4-Year-Old Girl Raped in Ayodhya, Accused Arrested After Police Encounter

Ayodhya: Police on Tuesday arrested a rape accused after a brief exchange of fire. According to sources, the man, identified as Mohammed Salman (35), is accused of raping a four-year-old girl. According to police, Salman had fled after committing the crime.

Sources in Police revealed that the minor Dalit girl, a resident of a village in Maharajganj, suddenly went missing on Monday evening. Soon after, her family went out looking for her and found her in a dishevelled state. The child was rushed to the hospital for treatment. 

The accused had allegedly kidnapped the girl when she was playing outside her residence and took her to his house where he raped her.  

Meanwhile,  a case was registered against the accused Salman. After police has launched a search to nab him, they received an input that accused was at Tarapur turn from Ami Alapar.

It is learnt that when a police team tried to surround and nab him, he opened fire at them and in self-defence, the police also fired. During encounter, the accused sustained a bullet injury to his leg.

The accused was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a police force has been deployed in the village.
