500 students allege sexual harassment against professor in Haryana's Sirsa
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to fully investigate the subject in light of the gravity of the allegations.
Sirsa: In an alarming development, 500 female students from Chaudhary Devi Lal University in Haryana's Sirsa have put serious allegations against a professor, pushing them to write a formal complaint to the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the state Governor, and the Women's Commission. The letter alleges sexual harassment by the professor towards the female students.
Given the delicate nature of the case, the local police have been instructed to begin an inquiry right once upon learning of the serious accusations. Authorities stress that more measures will be implemented in light of the investigation's conclusions. In response, the professor says the charges are part of a bigger plot to harm him.
The students allege in their letter that the professor would frequently call certain students into his chamber, perform lewd actions, and harass them sexually. They claim that these kinds of things have been happening regularly, which is why they brought the issue up with the authorities. According to the letter, complaints had been filed before but were not satisfactorily resolved.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to fully investigate the subject in light of the gravity of the allegations. The professor has faced complaints before, but each time he was found not to have committed any violation. The police emphasize that before taking any further action, a thorough investigation must be carried out. DSP Deepti Garg stated that after a preliminary investigation, a formal complaint would be filed.
The professor in question vigorously refutes the accusations, claiming that his active engagement is the reason behind a political plot to suppress him. He declares his innocence and his faith in the success of the truth. In the meantime, the letter composed by the female students has received hundreds of signatures on social media. Concerned users have called for strict action against the professor in response to the broad support.
