Alert Bengaluru! BESCOM Online Services to be Hit for 3 Days, Here's All You Need to Know
As per the notice, the transactions will remain unavailable from 9 pm on October 4, October 6 and 7.
Bengaluru: All consumer portals and store transactions of Bescom (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) in Bengaluru will be unavailable for three days due to scheduled IT programme updates.
As per the notice, the transactions will remain unavailable from 9 pm on October 4, October 6 and 7. Furthermore, the online payment services will not be available from 9 pm on October 4 to 11.
The company further stated that the planned downtime will be utilised to upgrade RAPDRP (Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Program) IT Applications as part of the IPDS IT Phase-2 project.
However, the power supply will remain unaffected. BESCOM assured consumers that these upgrades will enhance efficiency and service delivery across its operational areas.
BESCOM Managing Director Mr. Mahantesh Bilagi said, “As the nodal agency for the Part-A IT project for all ESCOMs in Karnataka, BESCOM is working to improve service delivery in towns with populations over 30,000. We are confident that these upgraded applications will boost efficiency and improve the user experience when they become operational by 6:00 AM on 7th October 2024."
What Will be Impacted and What Not?
According to the notice, the RAPDRP applications will be unavailable for routine operations like processing new connections, named and ta riff changes.
Consumers will not be able to make transactions at BESCOM cash counters.
The online bill payments via the consumer portal or through any other third-party payment channels will be unavailable from 9:00 pm on October 4 to 11:00 am on October 5. The services will resume after 11:00 am on October 5.
Store transactions through WAMS will also be halted.
