New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking at a podcast with American podcaster, Lex Fridman, PM Modi emphasized that no matter how much the world advances in Artifical Intelligence (AI), it remains “incomplete without India.” He highlighted that AI is fundamentally about collaboration, and India is making a significant contribution to its development.
Answering to Fridman's question about what would it take India to lead in the AI game around the world, PM Modi replied that his response might “sound strong' and ”upset some people."
PM Modi said, “No matter what the world does with AI, it will remain incomplete without India.” he added, “I'm making this statement very responsibly."
Highlighting his speech of AI Summit in France, PM Modi stressed that India is not only contributing to AI innovation but also creating AI tools tailored to specific use cases.
He pointed out that India's problem-solving skills and analytical thinking capabilities are globally competitive, making the country a crucial player in the AI revolution.
Replying to the question about AI verses human intelligence (HUMINT), PM Modi said, “artificial intelligence is fundamentally powered, shaped and guided by human intelligence. Without genuine human intelligence, AI can't thrive or progress sustainably.”
"Real intelligence exists abundantly in India's youth and talent pool. And, I believe that's our greatest asset." he added.
PM Modi stated that throughout history, technology has often been portrayed as humanity’s biggest challenge. However, each time, both technology and humanity have progressed, with humans always staying one step ahead. He emphasized that while AI is powerful, it may never match the depth of human imagination.
