BBA Student Molested, Assaulted By Seniors For Rejecting Friendship Proposal In Mumbai

Mumbai: Days after the incident of Badlapur jolted Maharashtra, an 18-year-old first-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student was allegedly molested, abused and assaulted by her four seniors for refusing to accept his friendship proposal. The incident took place near a suburban railway station, following which a complaint was lodged with the police. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, an FIR was registered and all the four accused, students of BBA second-year, were arrested.

According to the Mumbai police, the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. As per the complaint filed by the victim, one of the seniors had been insisting her to accept his "friendship proposal" for days and was angered as she repeatedly rejected his advances. The police registered an FIR on Aug 22 and arrested the four, all second-year BBA students.

Allegedly, several other people present at the spot, while the victim student was being molested and assaulted by no one from the crowd intervened when the four accused punched and kicked her on the road. A woman passerby eventually called the police helpline and cops reached the spot soon after. The injured teen was taken to a hospital, where she received medical assistance and was discharged.

As per the information, the incident took place after the teen left her institute at 1 pm. Allegedly her senior forcibly took her to a snack corner situated nearby. "Three of his classmates joined him and began to force me to accept his friendship. When I walked out of the corner, he charged at me and pulled me closer to him and molested me in front of all," the victim stated in her complaint.

Later, the accused started to assault her, when the victim tried to escape. She then managed to grab a sharp object lying on the roadside and pointed it at them, warning them to stop. Meanwhile, a woman called the police.
