Good News: New Expressway to Cut Travel Time Between Bengaluru and Chennai in Half | Check Details

New Delhi: In a major relief to commuters in south India, the under-construction Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is expected to reduce the travel time between the two capital cities by half. The expressway is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 17,000 crore.
Also known as NE-7, The 262 kilometre-long Expressway is being readied in three phases.
Currently, it takes over six hours to reach Chennai from Bengaluru and vice versa. With the opening of this upcoming project, the travel time will get reduced to just two-three hours.
The 71-km-long stretch of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway lies in the Karnataka and is likely to be readied by mid November, providing huge relief to commuters as it will enhance travel experience of motorists by reducing travel time between KGF town and Hoskote significantly.
At present, it takes around to 1.5 hours on the existing highway to cover the distance, with the new highway the distance will soon be covered in just 45 minutes.
