The incident took place on December 10, but the incident has come late to light after the video was posted on the social media platform X on December 16 by one Girish Narayan asking the cops to take action. The official handle of the Commissioner of Police of Bengaluru has stated, “The complaint has been forwarded to the concerned authorities including DCP of Whitefield, ACP of Marathalli and Bellandur police station."

The act was committed by one Suman, who was driving an XUV out of the parking lot of the apartment  and a case has been registered at Bellandur police station. Arbina was taken to a local hospital and then to a private hospital and died on the way. The car driver Suman has been taken into custody and a case has been registered.

A police official told Republic on condition of anonymity,”A case of unnatural death was registered on the day the incident happened, but later we got CCTV footage of the entire act and charged Suman under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act and he was also detained. As the case involves a vehicle it will be transferred to Bellandur traffic police station."

What's even more shocking is that Suman did not even realise that he had mowed down the child and did not stop his car after the incident and drove away. The child’s parents were in confusion as to how their child received fatal injuries. After the death of the child, a case was registered by Arbina's father but the cause was not determined. However, after the CCTV footage was obtained, it became clear that the child was mowed down.
