Bengaluru: Rakesh Khedekar's father has made shocking revelations about the relationship between the Bengaluru techie and his wife, Gauri; he has revealed that before being life partners, Rakesh and Gauri were first cousins - Gauri's mother and Rakesh's father were siblings.
The Bengaluru techie's father has also revealed how he was informed of the crime by his son and how he had been carrying a bottle of poison with him.

A major twist in the Bengaluru Murder case, accused techie Rakesh Khedekar's father has revealed that the victim's mother is his real sister, which means that husband-wife Rakesh Khedekar and Gauri were actually first cousins. He said that the two were madly in love with each other and despite the family's rejection, they wanted to marry each other. After waiting for four years, the family gave in and got the two married.
Rakesh Khedekar's father said that his son called him up and confessed to killing his wife in a fit of rage. He told his father that he does not want to live and will commit suicide; he requested his father to inform everyone else that he has killed Gauri. To this, Khedekar's father tried to stop him and told him to come home so that they could go to the police together and confess to them.
The accused's father has also revealed that Rakesh Khedekar, who fled Bengaluru and drove to Pune, was carrying a bottle of poison throughout the journey and had made up his mind about committing suicide. The techie, who went to a police station in Pune and confessed to the cops, consumed poison before surrendering. He is currently undergoing treatment in a Pune hospital and if he is stable today, he will be taken to Bengaluru.
Bengaluru techie Rakesh Khedekar's father has said that his daughter-in-law, had a temper and had often physically assaulted her husband. The two, who were hell bent on getting married, soon began to fight; the frequency of their arguments increased and one such argument led to this horrific crime.
Rakesh Khedekar, a project manager in a software firm, had an argument with his wife when she attacked him with a knife; enraged, he used the same knife to stab her to death. The techie then stuffed his wife's body in a suitcase and then after informing his in-laws about what he had done, he fled to Pune. The techie, who is now under police custody, attempted suicide before surrendering and is currently hospitalised.
