BJP Leader Allegedly Attacked by TMC Goons, Multiple Shots Fired in Assassination Bid

Kolkata: BJP leader Priyangu Pandey claimed that Trinamool Congress workers attacked his car in West Bengal's Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas district on Wednesday. Pandey claimed that seven bullets were fired at the car in an alleged assassination bid. 

Pandey also alleged that bomb were thrown at his car and 6-7 rounds of firing were done at his vehicle. Pandey said that multiple individuals targeted his car with gunfire earlier today.  

BJP alleged that two of its workers were injured in the attack in Bhatpara, while Priyangu Pandey is safe after the attack. 

Police recovered empty bomb shells from the area near where Pandey was attacked in Bhatpara, North 24 Parganas.

The attack occurred amid the BJP's 12-hour Bengal Bandh, which was called to protest against police action during the 'Nabanna Abhijan' rally to seek justice for RG Kar rape and murder victim in the state capital on Tuesday.  The march to state secretariat Nabanna in Howrah was organised by the newly-formed students' group Chatra Samaj, demanding the resignation of CM Mamata Banerjee over the rape and murder of the doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital

BJP leader Priyangu Pandey said while speaking to media, "Today I was going to our leader Arjun Singh's residence, We moved some distance and the road was blocked by a jetting machine from Bhatpara Municipality. The moment our car stopped, around 50-60 people targeted the vehicle. 7 to 8 bombs were thrown at my vehicle and then 6-7 round firing was done.'

' This is a joint conspiracy of TMC and the Police, they planned my murder. The police supported and gave information, My security was withdrawn and then this incident happened." he added further 

Former BJP MP Arjun Singh alleged that miscreants owing allegiance to the Trinamool Congress fired the shots and there was a plan to kill Pandey.
