BJP MLA calls on Maharashtra CM Shinde to declare Ram Mandir inauguration day as public holiday

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar has called for January 22 to be declared a public holiday so that people may watch the inauguration of the Ram Mandir at home.

MUMBAI: On Monday, the Bhartiya Janata Party MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, calling on him to declare January 22 as a public holiday on account of the Ram Mandir inauguration. This, according to the MLA, should be done to allow people the opportunity to watch the inauguration on TV. According to a report by PTI, Bhatkhalkar has said that this holiday should be applicable to both public and private establishments. 

The consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is set to take place at 12:20 PM on January 22 according to the comments made by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra General Secretary Champat Rai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present for the same.
