Bengaluru: Rakesh Khedekar, the man who killed his wife and then stuffed her body in a suitcase before fleeing Bengaluru, reportedly called up his in-laws after committing the crime, and confessed to the murder.

Rakesh Khedekar, a project manager at a software firm in Bengaluru, had first stabbed his wife, Gauri Sambekar, in a fit of rage and then slit her throat, killing her at the spot.

As per latest reports, Rakesh Khedekar, had killed his 32-year-old wife in a fit of rage; they had had been having arguments and reports also suggested that she had assaulted her husband physically. On March 26, one such argument escalated when Rakesh hit Gauri, after which she, retaliated by picking up a knife and throwing it at him. The knife injured Rakesh, causing him to bleed and then in a fit of rage, he took the same knife and stabbed Gauri, ultimately killing her.

After murdering his wife, he stuffed her body in a suitcase, placed it in the washroom and then went on to have a full meal. After eating food, the Bengaluru techie called up his in-laws and confessed to killing their daughter. He then fled to Pune, from where he has now been arrested.

Rakesh Khedekar, a project manager at a software firm in Bengaluru and his wife, Gauri Sambekar, who had a degree in Mass Media and communication, hailed from Maharashtra but had been living in Bengaluru. The couple, who reportedly fought frequently, were in the midst of an argument when in a fit of rage, the Bengaluru techie stabbed his wife and killed her on the spot. 

The cops reached the couple's house in Doddakannahalli after receiving a call over suspected hanging. During search, a suitcase was found in the bathroom, that had the woman's body with several injury marks - pointing towards a horrific murder. A detailed investigation was launched by the cops and it was confirmed that the body had not been dismembered; the postmortem report is awaited. The accused, Rakesh Khedekar has been arrested from Pune; he allegedly attempted suicide and is now undergoing treatment in a hospital in Pune.
