Bomb Scare at Nagpur High Court Turns Out to Be Hoax, ‘Mentally Unstable’ Man Detained

Nagpur Bomb Hoax: A bomb scare at the Nagpur High Court on Monday evening triggered a massive security operation before being declared a hoax. 

The police detained the man who reported the threat, later confirming that he was mentally unstable.

Police Conducted Thorough Search

The bomb threat was reported at Sadar Police Station by a resident of Jaripatka, prompting authorities to deploy multiple security teams to the court premises.

“At 5 PM, several police teams, including the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, launched a thorough search of the High Court premises. Nothing suspicious was found,” said a senior police official.

Caller Detained, Doctors Confirm Mental Instability

After the search concluded, the police detained the man who made the call. 

A medical examination confirmed that he was mentally unstable.

“The man who alerted Sadar Police Station is mentally unstable as per doctors. Further probe into the issue is underway,” the official added.

Security Strengthened Despite Hoax Alert

Though the threat was false, security around the High Court was intensified to prevent any untoward incidents. 

Authorities have also started investigating why the man made the false claim and whether he has a history of similar behavior.

The police urged citizens to refrain from making false alarms, as such incidents divert critical resources and cause unnecessary panic.
