New Delhi: Congress MP Karti Chidambaram appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Chinese visa case on Tuesday. The ED filed a money laundering case in the alleged Chinese visa scam case in May last year. After his appearance before ED, Karti said that the case against him holds no merit.

The Congress MP had earlier appeared before the ED on December 23 last year. Before entering the ED's premises, Karti Chidambaram told reporters the Chinese Visa case was ‘dead, dormant, and closed’. Karti Chidambaram also noted that it was his 20th appearance before the central agency, adding that it has become a 'routine affair'. After his appearance before the ED, Karti said that it was the "most bogus case" and he does not know who was behind it.

"This is my 20th visit to the ED office. It is becoming a routine affair. They ask the same things, and I give the same answers. It is a dead, dormant and closed case. The CBI has practically closed this matter but they (ED) want to reopen it and question me in connection with it," the Congress leader had told a news agency.

On his appearance before the ED, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said, "This is the 20th time. I think they missed me. I came to give them the Christmas greetings... What is the strategy? As I told you, there are 3 categories of cases against me. The first category is called bogus. The second category is called more bogus, and the third category is called most bogus."

"This is the most bogus case... I don't know who's behind the case. It must be some Chinese ghost," he said.
