Reports of Firing Outside AP Dhillon's Residence in Vancouver

New Delhi: Several reports have surfaced regarding a shooting incident outside the residence of renowned Punjabi singer AP Dhillon in Vancouver, Canada. A video capturing the alleged shooting has emerged and is now under scrutiny by security agencies.

The jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the shooting. Reports suggest that Bishnoi's motive was related to his (Dhillion) recent appearance with Bollywood star Salman Khan. 

‘Stay Within Limits’

A social media message circulating claimed that on the night of September 1, the gang carried out shootings at two locations in Canada—one on Victoria Island and another in Woodbridge, Toronto. 

Referring to his ties with Salman, the gang warned him to 'stay within his limits, or face a 'dog's death'.

Officials are currently investigating the incident to ascertain the precise motive behind the shooting and to ensure the safety of those involved.

Who is AP Dhillon?

AP Dhillon, whose full name is Amritpal Singh Dhillon, is a Canadian-Indian singer, rapper, and record producer known for his contributions to the Punjabi music industry. He gained widespread popularity for his songs that blended Punjabi music with hip-hop and trap elements. Some of his most popular tracks include "Brown Munde," "Excuses," and "Majhail."

AP Dhillon rose to fame primarily through digital platforms like YouTube and Spotify, where his music resonated with both South Asian audiences and global listeners. 

His work often explores themes of cultural identity, love, and the experiences of the Punjabi diaspora. He is also known for his distinct vocal style and catchy beats, which have made him a prominent figure in contemporary Punjabi music.

Last year, the documentary series titled "AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind" was also released on Prime Video which summoned the journey of the singer to fame.
