5 members of a family, including 3-year-old died by suicide in Jalandhar, heartbreaking note found

The deceased were identified as Manmohan Singh (55), his wife Sarabjit Kaur, their two daughters, Jyoti (32) and Gopi (31), and Jyoti's daughter Aman (3).

Jalandhar suicide: In a heartbreaking incident, 5 members of a family, including a 3-year-old girl died by suicide in Punjab's Jalandhar district. Police said that the family took the extreme step as they were in debt. The deceased were identified as  Manmohan Singh (55), his wife Sarabjit Kaur, their two daughters, Jyoti (32) and Gopi (31), and Jyoti's daughter Aman (3). 

Police came to know about the incident when Manmohan's son-in-law Sarabjit got no response when he tried to call the family. He rushed to their house and found his wife and Manmohan hanging by the ceiling fan. The bodies of Jyoti, Gopi and Aman were lying on the bed.

After getting the information, Police Station Head Manjeet Singh and Adampur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Vijay Kunwar Singh reached the incident spot and found a heartbreaking suicide note. The suicide note, written by Manmohan Singh mentioned debt. 

According to officials, all the victims had injury marks on their necks. While talking about Aman (3), cops said that she had injury marks on her cheeks. “Someone might have hanged her”, India Today reported quoting officials.

All the bodies have been sent to the Jalandhar Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
