New Delhi: A video of three thieves looting a mobile phone store in the national capital's Vasant Kunj area has gone viral on Thursday. The gang of masked thieves broke into the showroom early in the morning on September 24 (Tuesday) and stole mobile phones worth several lakhs. As per police, the thieves decamped with over 150 mobile phones worth around Rs 26 lakhs after breaking the locks of a showroom.

The CCTV footage captured the entire heist, showing the thieves breaking into the store around 3 AM. A police officer said that the burglary was over within four minutes and the accused fled in a car.

The video shows two masked thieves breaking into the store with a white sack, quickly clearing out the shelves and filling it with packed mobile phone boxes. Within seconds, a third thief joins in to help them.

Once the first sack was full, they brought in another empty white sack and began filling it with mobile phones, chargers, and other gadget boxes from the shelves. About three minutes into the break-in, the store's alarm went off, prompting the thieves to gather whatever they had stolen and flee the scene.

In just four to five minutes, they cleared out the entire stock of high-end mobile phones and fled the scene as the alarm began ringing.

The owner of the showroom, Vivek, said he got to know about the burglary at 9 am on Tuesday. "They have taken away about 150 to 200 mobile phones from my shop. It costs around 26 lakhs. Nothing is left except some accessories," Vivek said.

There are no proper security arrangements at this market and no police patrolling, due to which this incident has taken place, he alleged.

The police said that they have registered an FIR and formed a team to nab the accused.
