New Delhi: A thick blanket of fog enveloped the Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday morning as the cold wave maintained its grip on the national capital. The dense fog led to poor visibility conditions in several parts of the city, affecting the traffic movement and causing delays for early morning commuters.
Several trains and flights were cancelled and delayed due to the foggy condition prevailing in the national capital. The visibility dropped to almost zero, said weather department officals.
"Delhi Airport is facing delays affecting approximately 110 flights, both (domestic and international) arrivals and departures, due to dense fog," showed data by Delhi Airport FIDS (Flight Information Display System), reported news agency ANI. As many as 25 passenger trains in Delhi were also running late due to low visibility.
The cold weather continued to prevail in the national capital and adjoining areas with minimum temperature dropping to 7 degrees Celsius in the city. Almost entire North India has been facing a cold wave as temperatures continue to dip in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Delhi-NCR.
