Chandigarh: Unemployed teachers union stages protest outside Punjab Minister Harjot Bains' house

The protest by unemployed teachers union was staged over the delay in completion of recruitment process.

Chandigarh: Members of ETT/TET pass unemployed teachers union on Thursday staged a sit-in near the residence of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains in Chandigarh. The protest was staged over the delay in completion of recruitment process. The protesters have been detained by the police. More details are awaited.

Several woman took part in the protest. One of the protesters said that they were selected in the recruitment process in 2016 but have not been given a joining date yet. She added that in 2022, state minister Harjot Singh Bains assured them of finding a solution to this problem but nothing changed thereafter. “We are Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) teachers and we were selected in the recruitment process in 2016 but we have not been given joining yet. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains had said that our demands are genuine and he will address them but nothing has been done till now…,” she said.
