Chennai: No internet & electricity in parts of city for 36 hours in parts of TN

Chennai Rains: Though Chennai received respite from rainfall on Tuesday, but the people are still struggling for necessities such as electricity.

Cyclone Michaung in Chennai: The situation in Chennai seems to have worsened as there has been no electricity or internet services in parts of the city for the last 36 hours. Hundreds of people living near the coastal area have been evacuated due to safety reasons. 

As of now nine people have lost their lives due to heavy rainfall, falling trees and in Chennai, news agency ANI reported.


The schools, colleges and offices have been closed and several travel operations have been suspended.  The government officials remain vigilant and rescue measure are being taken care of.

Actor and Film producer shared a tweet sharing that water is entering his house and there is no electricity and no phone signal.

Another post shared b y a resident read, “Rain stopped long back yet there is no electricity in chennai. We are able to access internet only in the terrace. What’s wrong with DMK govt, failing to give temporary relief by ensuring electricity & food at-least? #ChennaiRain #CycloneMichaung.”
