New Delhi: CJI DY Chandrachud on Thursday rapped a lawyer over latter’s remark that he cross-checked with court master about the details or dictated order in court. Unpleasant moments were witnessed in the courtroom as the CJI expressed displeasure over the way the counsel made the remarks.

Fuming at the lawyer, CJI DY Chandrachud said, “How dare you asked the court master what I dictated in the court? tomorrow you will come to my house ask the PS what I am doing? lawyers have lost all sense or what?”

CJI Chandrachud further said that he’s going to retire soon but is still the incharge.

“Don't try these funny tricks again, these are my last days in the court…,” he said.

According to Bar and Bench, CJI Chandrachud said, “How dare you see what court master has recorded?”

The lawyer said, “the diary of the court master shows that an arbitrator has been appointed.”

“How dare you speak to the court master and see what was dictated,” CJI asked. The CJI further asked the court master: “Aap ne use kuch bola kya?”

CJI then said, “he says something contrary! You will now come to my house and show me what I dictated to my officer. The final order is the one which we sign. Do not try these funny tricks with. Going to my stenographer or secretary. I do not have a long tenure left now but I am in charge till my very last day…”

CJI then asked the court master, “Please come inside (aap andar aaiye zara)”.
