Rohtak: A day after the gruesome discovery of Congress leader Himani Narwal's body stuffed in a suitcase in Haryana’s Rohtak, the police have set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder. Four teams of Rohtak Police are already on the lookout for the culprits behind the incident. The 23-year-old Himani, who lived in Rohtak’s Vijay Nagar, was found dead stuffed in a suitcase on Saturday, according to the police. A post-mortem examination was conducted by a board of doctors in Rohtak, who claimed that the deceased was strangled to death.

The police have registered a case of murder under relevant sections and initiated a manhunt to nab those involved in the brutal killing. Meanwhile, the deceased's family has refused to cremate her body until her killers are arrested.

Her mother Savita alleged that some leaders in the Congress party envied her daughter's rapid political rise. "It could be anyone in the party who was jealous about her rise or it could be anyone else," Savita said, accompanied by her son Jatin.

Haryana Minister and BJP leader Anil Vij has latched onto Savita's comments, saying the allegations labelled by Himani's mother are "serious". "To move ahead, push others behind, this is Congress' old culture," Vij told reporters in Ambala when asked about the murder.

The Haryana Congress leaders, meanwhile, described Himani as an active and dedicated party worker who participated in the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra. She was pursuing a law degree and had been associated with the party for nearly a decade.

The murder of the youth Congress leader has sparked outrage, with many demanding justice for Himani and her family. The discovery of Himani Narwal's body in the suitcase in Rohtak has sent shockwaves throughout the nation.

Sources claimed that the tragic incident is the latest in a series of such events that have plagued Himani's family. Her elder brother was brutally murdered 14 years ago, and four years later, her father took his own life. He was a BSF employee, and after his death, Himani's mother took up his job in Delhi. Despite the challenges, Himani pursued her studies in Rohtak, living alone in her ancestral home.

Political Rivalry Behind Murder?

According to reports, Himani's body was found in a big blue suitcase near the Sampla bus stand in Rohtak. The police were shocked to discover that she had been strangled to death, with mehndi on her hands and a black dupatta around her neck. Her family has made sensational allegations against local Congress leaders, claiming that she was murdered due to political rivalry.

Himani's mother has demanded justice for her daughter, stating that she had put her life at risk by pursuing clean politics. Her brother, Jatin, has also appealed for justice, revealing that the suitcase belonged to their family and that the culprit may have been jealous of Himani's rapid rise in the Congress party.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has expressed shock at the incident and called for an impartial high-level investigation. The BJP has also reacted, with leader Amit Malviya calling it a "suitcase incident" after the "tandoor incident”.

The senior police officials have assured that the police teams are working tirelessly to solve the murder mystery and that the culprits will be behind bars soon.
