Congress Leader Shadi Lal Pandita On His Way To Meet Rahul Gandhi Killed in Road Accident In Jammu

Jammu: In a tragic road accident, senior Congress leader and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee’s Kashmiri Migrant Cell Shadi Lal Pandita was killed in Nagrota area in Jammu on Thursday. 

According to party officials, he was on his way to attend a meeting with party leader Rahul Gandhi. 

Police said that at about 6.45 pm Pandita’s motorcycle, on which he was on way from Narwal towards Nagrota, was hit by a truck driven by Hilal Ahmed of Awantipura, Kashmir, at Bajalta.

As per officals Pandita, a resident of Jagti Migrant Township, died on the spot. 

A party leader said Pandita was on way to attend a meeting of Congress President Malikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in Jammu.

JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that Pandita was a vocal voice of the cause of Kashmiri migrants. 

AICC Incharge Bharat Sinh Solanki, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, and other party officials expressed condolences over his death.
