Delhi: Man Brutally Stabbed to Death For Intervening in Fight With Sisters
Police sources said that the victim was killed by as many as five people, after he tried to intervene in a fight between the accused and his siblings.
New Delhi: A 24-year-old man was brutally thrashed, dragged and stabbed multiple times leading to his death in Delhi’s Samaypur Badli police station area. Police sources said that the victim was killed by as many as five people, after he tried to intervene in a fight between the accused and his siblings.
The deceased has been identified as Gurpreet (24), a resident of Libaspur in Samaypur Badli area of Outer Delhi. The police shifted the dead body to a nearby mortuary for post-mortem.
A case under relevant sections was registered and two of the accused were apprehended.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North Delhi), Ravi Kumar Singh stated, “On January 7, at 8.18 pm, a PCR call was received at Samaypur Badli police station regarding stabbing and physical assault near Bhagat Singh Park, Siraspur, Delhi.”
A police team immediately reached the spot, where they were informed that the victim, Gurpreet, had already been taken to a hospital in Rohini.
At the spot, Amandeep, brother of Gurpreet, stated that he along with his two sisters Gurvinder and Jaswinder had gone to drop off a relative nearby. On their way back, Amandeep and his sisters had a fight with Mange, his cousin Vijaypal alias Billu, Ravi, his neighbour Sagar and Tapsi.
Seeing the fight, Gurpreet came to the spot and intervened. His intervention enraged all the accused, following which Gurpreet was dragged by all the five accused and was stabbed multiple times leading to his death.
The police official said that two accused Ravi and Billu have been apprehended. Post-mortem of the body was done and was handed over to the family.
Further investigation is underway in the matter.
