New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police got a major breakthrough against the notorious Prince Teotia gang after an absconding gangster Taranjeet Singh alias Ginni was arrested from the national capital region. The accused, who earlier used to tie a turban, changed his look by trimming his hair to disguise the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Alok Kumar said that a team of Special Cell led by Inspector Karamvir Singh, Inspector Pawan Kumar and Inspector Jitender Mavi arrested the accused Ginni, who is a resident of Fatehgarh, Punjab. He was arrested from Udyog Vihar in Gurugram. He was wanted and absconding in a Fortuner carjacking case in South West Delhi.
DCP Kumar said, “There was information about the movement of absconding criminal Taranjeet Singh, who was continuously changing his hideouts in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab to evade his arrest. After relentless efforts of more than 3 months, specific information was received about the arrival of accused Ginni in Udyog Vihar area. Consequently, a trap was laid down there and Ginni was nabbed.”
The arrested accused is an active associate of notorious gangster Prince Teotia, who was murdered last year in Tihar Jail by his rival gang. The members of this gang are involved in several cases of assault, abduction, extortion, robbery, hurt, criminal intimidation and other criminal activities in Delhi.
Accused Taranjeet had taken the responsibility to revive the Prince Teotia gang after his murder. He was also arranging funds to run the gang and started working as a taxi driver to befool agencies.
