Days after CM Sharma created Rajasthan Anti Gangster Task Force, agency makes first major arrest
On Thursday. the task force successfully captured the notorious criminal Digvijay Singh alias Bittu who is wanted for a 2009 double murder.
JAIPUR: On Thursday, a senior police official said that Rajasthan's new Anti-Gangster Task Force has taken its first action, nabbing a notorious criminal wanted in a double murder case. The task force led by Additional Director General of Police (Crime) Dinesh MM, was formed on the direction of state Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Now, it has arrested Digvijay Singh alias Bittu, a criminal wanted for his involvement in a 2009 double murder case in Chittorgarh's Begun area. One of his victims was reportedly a witness in another murder case.
Kota native Singh, according to a report by PTI, has at least 15 cases registered against him and had a reward set at Rs 50,000 for any information leading up to his arrest.
The operation to nab the criminal was planned and executed by a team led by Inspector General of Police (Crime) Prafulla Kumar and Additional Superintendent of Police Vidya Prakash, with the team successfully capturing the wanted criminal in Jaipur's Nangal Jaisa Bohra area.
