Delhi shivers as cold wave intensifies, IMD issues yellow alert for fog today | WATCH

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a “yellow alert” in the city for Saturday.

New Delhi: The cold wave intensified in the national capital on Saturday with no respite for Delhiites from the bone-chilling cold. The city woke up to another chilly morning, affecting normal life.

The city has been reeling under cold wave conditions for the past few weeks.

Yellow alert for fog in Delhi today


The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a “yellow alert” in the city for Saturday, which means a dense fog will continue to hover over the city. In its forecast for next 2 days on X, the IMD wrote on Friday ,"Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions likely to continue over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan during next 2 days and significant decrease thereafter."


 

As per IMD forecast, the situation can improve marginally only Monday onwards. They predicted that an approaching western disturbance is expected to bring warmer winds. There are chances of light rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.
