New Delhi: There will be water disruption in several areas of Rohini in the national capital for two days starting Wednesday. Residents will have to brave 18-hour water cut due to planned maintenance works by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

The information about water cut in Rohini, a locality in the northwest, was announced by the DJB on September 20.

"Due to interconnection works in 1100 mm dia Rohini water main emanating from Haiderpur WW-II, the water supply in the following areas shall remain affected from the morning of 25.09.2024 (10:00 AM) to morning of 26.09.2024 (04:00 AM) i.e. 18 hours," the DJB said in a post on X. The disruption is attributed to interconnection works in 1100 mm dia Rohini water main emanating from Haiderpur WW-II.

The Jal Board also shared a helpline number for people to avail water tankers. Additionally, water tankers will be available in case of emegency upon request through the DJB's helpline or central control room.

List of affected areas:

The areas likely to get affected include Rohini Sector-9, Sector-11, Sector-13, Sector-16, Sector-17, ESI Hospital, Rithala Village, and nearby regions.

The DJB advised residents in the affected areas to store enough water in advance. Earlier on September 20, parts of north and central Delhi braced for a 12-hour water supply disruption due to a scheduled water supply line repair work. Localities that were likely affected included Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Pahar Ganj, Old and New Rajendra Nagar, Patel Nagar (east and west), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri, parts of Cantonment areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and parts of south Delhi.
