Divya Pahuja murder case: 'Was just joking' says accused as cops look for body in wrong hotel room
Ex-model Divya Pahuja, an accused in the alleged fake encounter of dreaded gangster Sandeep Gadoli, was killed at a hotel room near a Gurugram bus stand.
New Delhi: Former model Divya Pahuja's murder case has shocked the entire nation. Divya, an accused in the alleged fake encounter of dreaded gangster Sandeep Gadoli, was killed at a hotel room near the Gurugram bus stand on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old Divya's murder came to light when her family wasn't able to get in touch with her, following which they suspected some foul play and subsequently approached the cops. After learning about the case, the cops reached the hotel late on Tuesday night to dig into more details about the case.
The crime was revealed when the cops scanned the CCTV footage and found two men dragging a body wrapped in a bed sheet towards the main entrance of the hotel, and then loading it into a blue BMW car.
Further reports stated that now-deceased Divya Pahuja and the prime accused in the case, Abhijeet Singh, who is the owner of City Point Hotel where the alleged murder took place, landed in an argument after he met her at a room in his hotel, after which she was killed.
The probe stated that Divya allegedly blackmailed and extorted money from Singh, which allegedly led to this heinous crime.
Meanwhile, while commenting on the harrowing ordeal, Divya’s sister and her family members last spoke to Divya on January 2, around 11.50 am. After the family failed to contact her, Divya's sister stated that she reached Abhijeet's residence and even found Balraj there who had Divya's phone with him.
Divya's sister stated that she even found her sister’s blazer in Abhijeet’s hotel. To her utter shock, she even found bloodstains on the floor of a hotel room including her sister’s ring, shoes, and other articles. She claimed that Divya and Abhijeet were not in a relationship.
Commenting on the crime, she stated that although people were very much present in room number 112 and 113 on January 2, yet nobody heard the gunshot.
The cops, on the other hand, after learning about the case, also looked out for the body after hunting in room number 114, which was booked by Abhijeet. And, to their utter dismay, they could not find any evidence. It was only after scanning the CCTV footage that they found that the body was in room number 111 before being transferred to the BMW car.
Furthermore, the victim's sister stressed that the murder was very well-planned and sharp objects were used to kill her. The victim's sister said at first, Abhijeet alerted the cops regarding the incident and later denied the same stating that he was 'joking' following, which the police left the spot.
Meanwhile, Divya's body is yet to be recovered and at present, three people, including Abhijeet Singh were arrested in this case.
