Illegal mining case: ED conducts raids on Jharkhand CM’s aide after Soren skips summon
The ED initiated raids at the residence of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s press advisor, Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu, in connection with an illegal mining case
Jharkhand: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday, January 3, initiated raids at the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s press advisor, Abhishek Prasad alias Pintu, in connection with an illegal mining case. The agency is also conducting searches at over 10 locations in Ranchi and Rajasthan in the illegal mining money laundering case. Searches are being carried out at 12 locations, including Abhishek Prasad's residence and the residence of Sahibganj Deputy Commissioner. Rajendra Dubey, DSP, Hazaribag, is also being raided by the ED. Ram Nivas, District Collector of Sahibganj, is also being searched, including his residence in Rajasthan.
Soren skipped ED summon
Earlier, Soren skipped the seventh summon sent to him by ED. Calling the probe in the alleged land scam 'biased', Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren on Tuesday has refused to appear before the ED after the central probe agency on Sunday issued a letter-cum-summons to him in the money laundering case. Accusing the news media of conducting a trial against him, CM Soren said that ED has zero proof against him.
