Mumbai: In a bold move aimed at curbing noise pollution and enforcing regulations surrounding loudspeaker usage, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday declared that illegal loudspeakers at mosques will be removed, and strict actions will be implemented against violators. This announcement came in response to a query raised by BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar regarding rampant noise pollution issues linked to various mosques across the state.

During the ongoing Budget session, Fadnavis asserted, "As per the Bombay High Court order, we will ensure that illegal loudspeakers are dismantled without delay. For those who do not have the necessary permissions and continue to violate regulations, we will take stringent action. If any mosque is found to possess a permit but fails to adhere to the prescribed norms, we will seize the loudspeakers and revoke their permissions permanently."

The Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to enforcing laws and regulations, asserting that noise pollution would not be taken lightly in Maharashtra.
