Chandigarh: As the strike by fuel-tanker drivers continues, causing a constraint in petrol and diesel supplies across UT Chandigarh, the District Magistrate of Chandigarh has taken swift action, implementing temporary restrictions on fuel sales at gas stations in the region. Effective immediately, the order limits two-wheelers to a maximum purchase of 2 litres (up to Rs 200 in value) and four-wheelers to 5 litres (up to Rs 500) per transaction.

These limitations have been enforced as a preemptive measure to ensure an equitable distribution of fuel resources during this period of disrupted supply.

Fuel station operators are strongly advised to adhere to these directives, and consumers are earnestly urged to cooperate with the imposed restrictions. The District Magistrate underscored that these measures are provisional and aimed at managing the situation until regular fuel supply is reinstated. Efforts are actively underway to resume fuel supply to UT Chandigarh, with coordination efforts between Oil Marketing Companies and the states of Punjab & Haryana in progress.
