Rajkot: A 14-year-old boy riding pillion on a motorcycle was killed after the vehicle hit a speedbreaker near the Bhaktinagar area, police said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Paresh Shekhaliya.
Police said, as per the footage that has been accessed, it seems the motorcycle was going at a high speed, and the rider failed to notice the newly constructed speed bump ahead and lost control.
Speedbreaker Goes Unnoticed
“Victim was thrown off the vehicle and collided with an electricity pole, suffering severe head injuries,” cops said.

A case of an accidental death has been registered and a probe has been launched to check whether it was the fault of the biker or whether the road contractor did not follow procedure in laying down proper signs where a speed breaker was constructed.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old event management professional, identified as Suchandra Chattopadhyay, lost her life in a tragic road accident in West Bengal's Paschim Bardhaman district last week.
The incident occurred when her car overturned while racing with another vehicle near Panagarh. Initially, claims surfaced that harassment by eve-teasers in the other vehicle led to the accident, but a senior police officer later dismissed these allegations, stating that Chattopadhyay's car was actually following the other vehicle.
