Kanpur: A Muslim woman in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh has been facing harassment from her family members and community for wearing a saffron stole over her hijab (veil). The woman has also been denied ownership in her father's property, citing her saffron stole as the reason. She has reportedly met chief minister Yogi Adityanath to share her concerns over harassment and property conflict. 

The victim hails from Moolganj area, and has informed the Chief Minister about her predicament on December 23 while wearing the saffron stole. The victim has alleged that her brothers are attempting to throw her out of the house.

The victim has also reported the matter to the local police. The girl said that she faces constant harassment over her saffron stole, with people heckling her saying that she has converted to Hinduism. She had also reached out to clerics from the community, however, hasn't received any help.
