How the making of Ayodhya airport will impact passengers arrival experience

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Ahead of the grand consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30 will inaugurate the newly-built Ayodhya Airport, named ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham.’

The newly-built airport, constructed in record 20 months under the supervision of Airport Authority of India, will leave special impact on the passengers arrival experience. Are you thinking how?

The idea behind making of the new Ayodhya Airport was that when passengers arrive at the newly laid strip and the facility, they should realise from the general appearance around that they have reached the temple town.

Speaking on the same line, Union Minister Gen (retd) VK Singh said, “The idea was to develop an airport in keeping with the general look and spiritual ambience of Ayodhya. When passengers arrive, they should realise from the appearance around them that they have come to Ayodhya.”

“Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the airport today. The Ayodhya airport is ready and flight services will start today. I hope the visitors here will arrive by air henceforth. Ayodhya has been completely transformed,” he added.

Features of Ayodhya Airport 

Phase 1 of the state-of-the-art airport is developed at a cost of more than Rs 1450 crore, according to officials. The airport’s terminal building features an area of 6500 sqm, equipped to serve about 10 lakh passengers annually, it added.

The facade of the Terminal Building depicts the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya. The interiors of the terminal Building are decorated with local art, paintings and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram.

The terminal building of Ayodhya airport is also equipped with various sustainability features like insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rain water harvesting, landscaping with fountains, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, solar power plant and many other such features have been provided to meet GRIHA - 5 star ratings.
