The controversial image was a meme that had Mamata Banerjee's face imposed on Priyanka Chopra's recent Met Gala look which made the overall look funny.

In a complaint filed by a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, Bivas Chandra Hazra said: 'Priyanka Sharma... posted a most awful post on Facebook on 9th May 2019 at 5 PM on her timeline i.e. she cut the face of Mamata Banerjee from any picture and paste it on a picture of some model or something like that, which broke the community guidelines and its is also an issue of violence. She not just tries to insult our Hon'lbe Chief Minister, but she trying to insults the culture of our Bengal by her post on Facebook and which is Cyber Crime.'
