IMD predicts fog, rainfall till Jan 6 in these states

The weather agency issued warnings at the conference on coldwave days in the country's center for January and predicted dense fog days over portions of northwest and east India until January 4.
According to IMD, a number of states in North East India, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh are expected to see dense to extremely dense fog conditions.
Fog alert by IMD
-IMD predicts that from January 1st to 5th, dense to extremely dense fog conditions will likely dominate in various areas of Punjab during the night and morning hours.
-In some areas of Haryana and Chandigarh from January 1–3, Uttarakhand from January 2–6, East Rajasthan on January 2 and 3, and scattered pockets across West Rajasthan on January 2 and 3, dense to very dense fog conditions are also predicted to prevail.
-Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, as well as Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Jharkhand, are also expected to experience dense fog conditions between January 2 and 3.
-Furthermore, the meteorological service has forecasted Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions for various areas of Punjab, Haryana on January 2 and for certain areas on January 3. On January 4 and 5, there are also forecasted to be isolated pockets of cold weather.
This week's rainfall predictions
-The weather service has forecast light to moderate rainfall over the next two to three days across south Tamil Nadu, south Kerala, and Lakshadweep, with sporadic heavy rainfall over Lakshadweep from January 1 to 4 and Kerala on January 1 and 4.
-Additionally, it is anticipated that there will be light, isolated rainfall in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from January 2 to 5 and in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha from January 3 to January 5.
Normal rainfall during Jan-March 2024
-Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra raised hopes for a stronger wheat crop during his news conference on the monthly prediction for January by predicting normal rainfall for the January, February, and March timeframe.
