New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slams Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and members of the India Bloc, claiming they tried to rig the Lok Sabha elections with help from George Soros. Speaking to ANI, Yogi said that the India Bloc teamed up with foreign powers, using money to push their ‘propaganda.’
The UP CM then went on to call these actions ‘treason,’ accusing the Opposition of colluding with foreign entities to manipulate the electoral process.
" Congress and opposition parties not only spread propaganda but foreign money was also involved in it. George Soros had already announced it... Many facts will come to light. Through NGOs, social media platforms, and digital media, they spread large-scale propaganda, claiming that the BJP would change the Constitution if Prime Minister Modi returned to power," Adityanath said.
He further alleged that ‘foreign money was involved across the country’ and that Congress and other INDIA bloc parties were directly responsible for trying to sway voters. "This action falls under the category of treason. You are taking money from a foreign power and influencing India's elections," he added.
Asked about potential disagreements between the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during the elections, the Chief Minister dismissed the notion, calling RSS a "guardian" of the nation. "RSS is an organization that works as a guardian in India, and such organisations do not exist in any other country. It is the world's largest self-managed organization. RSS does not participate in political campaigns. It only helps create public awareness on social issues," he stated.
Taking a dig at the Congress after its electoral defeats in Haryana , Maharashtra , and Delhi, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said the public does not tolerate ‘lies’ for long and is now rejecting the Opposition. "They had spread so much propaganda. But when the truth came out, the people of the country realized that Congress was behind it and that foreign money was involved. Now, the public is teaching them a lesson, as seen in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi," he said.
Adityanath also highlighted the BJP's performance in Uttar Pradesh's recent bypolls. "There were by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. Out of 10, eight were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Many of them, like Milkipur, Katahari, and Kundarki, were Samajwadi Party strongholds, but BJP secured thumping victories."
Hitting out at the Congress, Adityanath accused the party of failing to deliver on promises made during state elections in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh . "During elections, they kept talking about 'Khata-Khat-Khata-Khat,' saying every woman would get money in her account. What happened? They failed to fulfill these promises in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh," he added.
