At the All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "Two days ago, the Indian Navy completed a very daring operation. As soon as a message was received from a merchant vessel in the Arabian Sea, Indian Navy and Marine Commandos got active instantly. There were 21 people on this ship, out of which 15 were Indians. Indian Navy reached 2000 kms away from the Indian coast and rescued all of them. You must have also seen that video in which the Indian crew of the ship were raising the slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'."

New Delhi: A  five-year-old girl underwent an awake craniotomy, a procedure typically performed on adults, raising the bar for paediatric neurosurgery, in AIIMS Delhi on Sunday January 7 . Prof Mihir Prakash Pandia from the Department of Anaesthesia at AIIMS described the surgery as an immense challenge, underlining the complexity of conducting such a procedure on a young child. He elaborated, "It was very challenging for us...in the middle of the surgery, the patient can have severe pain also. It becomes difficult to manage and then we have to convert it to general anaesthesia." Despite the intricate nature of this surgery and the potential risks involved, the decision to proceed with the awake craniotomy was made after considering the risk-benefit analysis. This remarkable milestone at AIIMS marks a significant advancement in paediatric neurosurgical interventions.

The abrupt retraction comes amidst weather anomalies affecting several parts of the region.
