Industrialist Sajjan Jindal, on Sunday, rejected the rape allegations levelled on him by a Mumbai-based woman by calling them “false” and “baseless.”

Industrialist Sajjan Jindal, on Sunday, rejected the rape allegations calling them “false” and “baseless.” In a statement issued by Jindal, he said that he is ready to extend full cooperation in the investigation but refused to comment further.
“He is committed to providing full cooperation throughout the investigation. As the investigation is ongoing, we will refrain from commenting further at this stage. We kindly request you to respect the privacy of the family,” the industrialist said in his statement.
Jindal was accused of a rape by a 30-year-old woman. She claimed that the billionaire raped her after promising her of marriage.
Posing as an actor on social media, the woman claimed that she met Jindal (64) at a VIP box during a cricket match in Dubai a few years ago where they exchanged phone numbers. She also claimed that the two developed a friendship and the JCW Group's Chairman and Managing Director was attracted to her.
She claims she met Jindal inside a hotel in suburban Bandra and south Mumbai’s Jindal Mansion and also went on a drive with him in a car before the alleged rape.
According to the FIR, Jindal has been avoiding contact with her since the incident.
The incident allegedly happened on January 23 earlier this year inside the JSW Group headquarters. Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered against Jindal under IPC sections 376 (rape), 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
