RG Kar Case: ED Raids Several Locations Including Sandip Ghosh's Residence | UPDATES

Kolkata: As the investigation in the Kolkata Rape and Murder Case continues, separate investigations are underway with respect to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Financial Irregularities Case. The Enforcement Directorate is currently raiding five to six locations in Kolkata including the residences of Sandip Ghosh and his aide Biplav Singha, who are both under arrest.

ED Conducts Raids at 5-6 Locations in Kolkata

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently conducting raids at five to six locations in Kolkata, with respect to the financial irregularities case under the tenure of Sandip Ghosh, at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. 

The raids are being conducted at the residence of the ex-principal of the RG Kar Hospital and his close aide Biplav Singha, who are both under CBI custody currently.

Mamata Banerjee Link to RG Kar Demolition Order after Rape and Murder Case

In a big breakthrough in RG Kar's ransacking, it has emerged that a demolition order was issued from the office of Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the Medical College and Hospital. The notice issued on August 10, a day after Abhaya rape and murder directed the renovation of an adjacent room to the seminar hall, where the body of the trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered, was found. 

A letter has also been doing rounds on social media which claimed that Ghosh ordered renovation near the seminar room. It is to be noted that Health Ministry in West Bengal government is under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee , who is also holds the Home Minister portfolio.

• National Medical's data entry operator Prasun Chatterjee's house is raided by ED Subhashgram at around 6:45 am. Security of central forces is with the officials.
• ED raids underway at the residence of former principal of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College Sandip Ghosh and a few other places in Kolkata. ED had registered a case of PMLA in the financial irregularities case. Ghosh is presently in the custody of CBI.
