CCTV footage revealed the girl had been seen leaving with her cousin. Upon questioning, the teenager confessed to the crime, citing feelings of jealousy and resentment as his motives. He reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with how much affection the family showed towards the young girl, leading to this tragic outcome.
The Crime PI of Pelhar Police Station Dilip Rakh said, "A six-year-old girl, who was a Senior KG student at a school under their jurisdiction, had returned home after school with her father. After having lunch at home, the girl left to play outside. When family members noticed she was missing, they began to search for her desperately. They discovered a CCTV camera in the area and reviewed the footage, which showed the six-year-old girl with her 13-year-old cousin."

They searched the hilly areas of their locality for both of them but could not find them. Additional CCTV footage revealed the cousin returning alone. Concerned, family members questioned the boy, who stated that he and his cousin had gone to the hills to play. He claimed that two individuals had come to the mountain, assaulted him, and instructed him to beat his sister.
The family then brought the 13-year-old boy to the police station. When questioned, he initially provided inconsistent stories. However, after more rigorous questioning, he confessed that the girl was his aunt's daughter and that everyone in the house loved her, but no one cared for him. He alleged that the girl often troubled him, fought with him, and insulted him. In a fit of anger, he took her to the mountains, where he first strangled her and then killed her by crushing her head with a stone.
Following this confession, the police recovered her body, and an FIR was registered based on all the statements. The 13-year-old accused will be presented in a special juvenile justice court."
The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather more information about this deeply disturbing case. The community is left in shock over the events that transpired, as they grapple with the loss of such a young life.
