Man Slits Woman’s Throat After His Family Learns About Their Relationship

Noida: A 38-year-old man allegedly slit the throat of a woman he was in a relationship with after his wife and children discovered the affair, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place in Nirman Vihar Colony on Friday, where the accused, Mukeem, killed Shabnam (37), who was also reportedly married to someone else.

According to police, Mukeem initially planned to shoot the woman but changed his mind fearing the gunshot would alert neighbours.

“Initially he had planned to shoot her but he feared that the noise from firing would alert the neighbours and therefore he slit her throat and left after locking the room from outside. Later during the night, we received a call from a neighbour after he suspected that what he saw from his window appeared to be a dead body of a woman,” said the police.

Mukeem was arrested on Saturday, following a brief encounter with a police team, during which he sustained a bullet injury to his leg.

During interrogation, he revealed that he was a resident of Dadri and had been in a relationship with Shabnam for over eight years. He allegedly told police that his wife and children opposed the relationship, which ultimately drove him to murder her.
