Meerut (UP): A video of Muskan Rastogi, the accused in the gruesome murder of her husband, Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, has surfaced online. In the video, she was seen dancing joyfully with Saurabh, the same man she later murdered.
The viral video, reportedly from their daughter’s birthday celebration, showed Muskan dancing to the song "Bankar Kabootari" inside a restaurant. The couple appeared to share a good bond in the footage, making the brutal killing even more shocking.
According to the police, Muskan, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, stabbed Saurabh to death on March 4. To cover up the crime, they chopped his body into 15 pieces and sealed them inside a blue drum filled with cement. The drum remained in their home for nearly two weeks before being discovered.
Meerut SP Ayush Vikram Singh stated, "Saurabh had been missing since March 4. Based on suspicion, we questioned Muskan and Sahil. During interrogation, Sahil confessed to the murder and revealed how they disposed of the body."
In a shocking turn, Muskan’s own parents have demanded the death penalty for her. Her mother called Saurabh ‘a good man’ and demanded justice for him. She stated, "We demand justice. She should be hanged till death."
Muskan’s father also expressed deep shock over the crime and went a step further, saying, "She is not fit for society. She should be hanged, and if possible, it should be done live."
Saurabh’s mother claimed that her granddaughter might have seen the crime. She revealed, "The neighbors told us that she said, ‘Papa has been kept in the drum.’ She must have seen something, otherwise, she wouldn’t have said that."
After committing the crime, Muskan and Sahil reportedly went on a trip together, showing no signs of remorse.
The murder was uncovered when Muskan and Sahil attempted to remove the drum from the house. When labourers struggled to lift the heavy container, they questioned Muskan. She lied, saying it contained house junk. However, when the lid accidentally opened, a foul smell emerged, alerting the labourers, who then informed the police.
Muskan and Sahil were arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the crime, uncovering more shocking details of betrayal, brutality, and deception.
