Meerut Merchant Navy Officer Murder: Accused Wife Muskan's Parents Demand Justice For 'Good Man' Saurabh, say 'Hang Her'

Meerut: The horrific sequence of events before and after the murder of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput by his wife Muskan and her lover Sahil has sent shockwaves across the nation. Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla allegedly stabbed her husband to death and chopped the body into 15 pieces on March 4. To conceal the crime, they then dumped the pieces into a blue drum and and sealed it with cement. Sahil and Muskan have been arrested after the shocking incident of love and betrayal was uncovered by the police and the chief judicial magistrate's court has sent the accused to a 14-day judicial custody.

The parents of accused Muskaan Rastogi now has demanded strict punishment for their daughter. Calling Saurabh 'a good man', the mother of Muskan demanded justice for their son-in-law. "We demand justice, and we want that she should be hanged till death," she said. 

The father of Muskan, deeply disturbed over the incident, has also demanded justice for Saurabh and death penalty for her daughter and Sahil Shukla. “She is not fit for the society and she is dangerous to everyone. She should be hanged till death, and if possible it should be live."

The Meerut SP Ayush Vikram Singh said that victim Saurabh Rajput was missing since March 4 and based on suspicion, his wife Muskan and her partner Sahil were called for questioning. During the interrogation, Sahil confessed that on March 4, he and Muskan stabbed Saurabh to death. He also revealed how the murder was planned and the body was sealed inside a drum. The dismembered body of Saurabh was then recovered nearly two weeks after the gruesome killing and sent for post-mortem. 

In another big twist to the case, the mother of deceased Merchant Navy officer, while speaking to the media, revealed how her granddaughter had probably been the witness to the crime. “The daughter of Saurabh and Muskan might be aware of this, as the neighbours told us that she said that ‘papa has been kept in drum’. She might have seen something, then only she was saying so,” Saurabh's mother told ANI.

She also spoke about how her daughter-in-law Muskan went for a trip with her lover Sahil after murdering her son. She informed that the accused were trying to shift the body hidden in the drum out of the house. When the labourers could not lift the heavy drum, he asked Muskan about its contents only to be informed that she has stuffed it with house junk. However, when the lid of the drum suddenly opened, the labourers got a foul smell and they informed the police.
