Muskaan Rastogi Planned and Executed Husband Saurabh Rajput's Murder: Sahil's Grandmother

New Delhi: Pushpa Devi, the grandmother of Sahil Shukla, one of the accused in the brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput, stated that  Muskan Rastogi, the victim’s wife, is the mastermind behind the crime. According to her, Muskan orchestrated and executed the killing, with Sahil playing a role alongside her.

Speaking to the media, Pushpa Devi said, "... Sahil didn't tell me anything when I met him... I have never even seen Muskan... Nothing could be worse than this (crime). But I am still confused as to what happened and how... The girl (Muskan Rastogi) planned and executed everything... Both have made a huge mistake..."

Pushpa Devi was the first family member to visit Sahil at Chaudhary Charan Singh district jail in Meerut, a meeting permitted by prison authorities following her request, as per media reports.

Jail Superintendent Dr Viresh Raj Sharma confirmed Pushpa Devi’s visit, saying, "Sahil's maternal grandmother had appealed in the prison to meet him. She was given permission as per the rules, and she has come to meet Sahil today."

This comes four days after the autopsy report revealed some chilling details in the Meerut murder case. Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh said that Muskan had stabbed Saurabh's heart and the whole body was cut into four pieces.  

"We will try to run the case in a fast-track court so that the accused get punished as soon as possible," a police official said.

The gruesome details of the crime have stunned the community.

Saurabh Rastogi, a Merchant Navy officer was brutally murdered by his wife and her lover in UP's Meerut; his dismembered body was found in a sealed cement drum.

Muskan Rastogi, the wife of the Merchant Navy officer murdered in Meerut, successfully concealed the crime, misled the police, and deceived family, friends, and acquaintances.

After committing the murder and disposing of her husband's remains, she locked the house and went on a vacation to Shimla-Manali with her boyfriend. She told her neighbors and family that she was traveling to Himachal Pradesh with her husband, Saurabh.

During the three-day trip, she continued to post photos and videos on Instagram using Saurabh's phone, creating the illusion that everything was normal and preventing any suspicion from arising.

The incident was reported to the police on March 18, after which Muskan and Sahil were arrested.
