Nagpur: A total of nine CCTV clips have surfaced and all of them are hinting at a clear pre-planning of the Nagpur Violence; Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also has similar views and has called this a possible ‘premediated conspiracy’. Violence escalated in Nagpur on Monday evening, over the removal of the Aurangzeb's tomb.
The tensions heightened as a violent mob threw stones at the police and set vehicles ablaze, resulting in several injuries. In response, the cops fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse the gathering crowds in Chitnis Park and Mahal areas.
Nine CCTV clips have surfaced of the violence in Nagpur over the Aurangzeb Tomb Row; these footages have revealed that this violence is pre-planned. The mobs, who were seen pelting stones, destroying vehicles and taking out petrol from bikes parked on the sides of the roads, were asked to do so - the CCTV clips accessed by Republic hint at the fact that this violence was orchestrated, it was pre-planned. The ground reality exposed by Republic shows how the mobs have purposely carried out violent activities, to ensure large-scale vandalism. The mobs, after engaging in violence, also made an attempt to destroy all the evidences.
On the violence being pre-planned, Republic reporters have revealed how the men first broke bikes, opened their petrol tanks and leaked the petrol, then broke open spray bottles, set the chemical in them on fire and then threw them in a petrol pump area, to cause vandalism. Another instance that hints at pre-planning of the Nagpur violence is a jute bag, that has been found in a completely burnt condition; it was dipped in petrol, set on fire and then thrown in the direction of people's homes. The cars were also burnt using the spray bottles and jute bangs, hinting at a pre-planned controversy.
On Tuesday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the violence in Nagpur seemed to be part of a planned conspiracy, with the mob deliberately targeting certain homes and businesses. Fadnavis, who also oversees the Home department, assured that those responsible for attacking police officers would face strict consequences.
The Maharashtra CM said in the Assembly, "The mob targeted specific houses and establishments. It (the attack) appears to be a premeditated conspiracy."
Apart from him, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde has also expressed his suspicion regarding the Nagpur Violence being pre-planned. He said that this was a conspiracy, aimed at targeting a particular community.
A curfew has been enforced in several parts of Nagpur city following a protest against the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb on Monday, which led to violent clashes and resulted in the vandalism of multiple houses and vehicles. During a speech in the legislative assembly, Fadnavis reported that 33 police officers, including three deputy commissioners of police, were injured in the unrest, with one senior official being attacked with an axe. The violence, which began in central Nagpur, left at least 12 police personnel injured, including the three DCPs.
