NDA is 'Narendra Damodar Das ka Anushasan': Shankaracharya
Shankaracharya praised Modi at the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital inauguration, calling NDA "Narendra Damodar Das ka Anushasan" and highlighting virtuous leadership.
Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kama Koti Peetha, Sri Shankar Vijayendra Saraswati Swami, expressed his blessings for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a function on Sunday marking the inauguration of RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi. The Shankaracharya described Modi's government, referred to as ' NDA ', as "Narendra Damodar Das ka Anushasan" (discipline of Narendra Damodar Das).
Addressing the audience, he stated, "God has blessed Narendra Damodar Das Modi, and his government is doing beautiful work for the welfare of everyone as an ideal government in the world." The inauguration event was attended by Prime Minister Modi, who praised the initiative.
Beginning his address in Sanskrit, the Shankaracharya highlighted the significance of the event, saying, "Today is an opportunity to see Netra Utsav and this is an important occasion of service." He noted that the eye hospital initiative started in Coimbatore and is now expanding to its 17th location, with two hospitals already established in Uttar Pradesh—one in Kanpur and another in Varanasi.
Emphasizing the need for virtuous leadership, he remarked, "We need a leader who unites everyone." The Shankaracharya also commended the recent assembly elections in Kashmir and spoke of his long acquaintance with Modi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath added that the inauguration of the eye hospital represents a new link in the development campaign of Kashi.
