The Industrial Development Authority and Noida Authority green-signalled the master plan for setting up the city of 'New Noida' near Noida.
Noida, the Delhi satellite city in Uttar Pradesh set up in 1976, will witness a massive transformation once the New Noida Master Plan 2041 gets executed.
The Industrial Development Authority and Noida Authority, on Tuesday, green-signalled the master plan for setting up the city of 'New Noida' near Noida.
As per the plan, the landscape of around 84 villages in Dadri and Bulandshahr will be transformed into Chicago, European and American-style locations.
While institutional spaces will take up nine per cent of the 20,000 hectares of the new city, commercial properties will constitute over four-and-a-half per cent. Forty-one areas in New Noida have been dedicated for industrial purposes with residential spaces taking up 11.5 per cent of the pie. Besides, green and recreational places will constitute 17 per cent, and road infrastructure has been allocated 15.5 per cent.
Units catering to the housing of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Low-Income Group (LIG), Middle-Income Group (MIG) and High-Income Group (HIG) will be constructed.
Building housing facilities for nearly 3.5 lakh migrants out of the projected six lakh have been considered. Moreover, to address the grave concern of encroachment, an estimated budget of Rs 1000 crore has been earmarked for the same.
Four distinct zones — North, South, East and West — have been created to boost city planning akin to models in European and American countries. A Special Investment Zone (SIZ) spanning almost 210 square kilometres is planned that is aimed at offering investors enhanced connectivity.
The SIZ is interconnected through the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (Dadri to Mumbai) and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (Ludhiana to Kolkata via Khurja).
A dedicated area of 1662 hectares has been set aside for establishing numerous university campuses, paramedical institutions, integrated colleges, technical institutions, nursing, medical and engineering colleges, and professional institutes.
A three-tier road network will integrate college-to-industry routes through the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNIGR).
