He said that the political differences are common and acceptable, but "it should not come in the way of our nation's development".

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday adopted the motion of thanks on the President's address after a reply by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The motion was adopted with a voice vote and some amendments moved by opposition parties were negated.

President Droupadi Murmu addressed a joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on the first day of the Budget Session on January 31.

LPG can be sold at 'more economical rates' if international price comes down: Govt in Lok Sabha

While addressing the LS, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said that if the international price of fuel comes down from its current price of USD 750 per metric tonne, domestic LPG can then be sold at "even more economical rates."

"We did not allow the cost of domestic LPG to increase. The Saudi contract price went up by 330 per cent, yet the price increase was very small for the domestic thing... It would be ideal if the international Saudi contract price could come down from USD 750 per metric tonne, it would enable domestic LPG to be sold at even more economical rates," Puri said.

It was January 24, and I said this before the entire gathering in Jammu, terrorists must listen this open ears, I said that on January 26, I will reach Lal Chowk without security and bullet chowk and then we'll decide who has the guts", PM Modi said while the Lok Sabha reverberated with claps.

PM Modi takes poetic dig at Rahul Gandhi

In his Lok Sabha address on Wednesday, PM Modi used a couplet by Indian Urdu poet Jigar Moradabadi to attack Rahul Gandhi. He said, "Ye keh keh ke hum dil ko behla rahe hain, woh ab chal chuke hain, woh ab aa rahe hain".

PM Modi also used a piece of Dushyant Kumar’s poetry to attack Wayanad MP saying, "Tumhare pao ke neeche, [Beneath your feet]” and went on to emphasize it by repeating the phrase in Hindi. “Tumhare pao ke neeche koi zameen nahi, kamaal ye hai, ki phir bhi tumhe yakeen nahi, [There is no ground beneath your feet, but the surprising thing is, you still don't want to believe it]” he said, as the Parliament broke into laughter and thumped in complete agreement.

He also talked about the 'hyperactive system'. "I saw the session yesterday, after the speech of some members, the entire ecosystem became hyperactive," PM Modi shared his observation on ecosystem 'jumping' after some speeches in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Giving a reply to Opposition's attack on him over the Adani row, PM Modi said, "Opposition thinks abusing Modi will help them. They think only they have the knowledge. They are still under this illusion even after 22 years. Trust in Modi was not born out of newspaper headlines, not through faces on TV. I have given my life, every moment of mine for the people of the country, for the glorious future of the country."

PM Modi shames UPA on scams, corruption & more

PM Modi took a dig at the UPA in the Parliament on Wednesday labelling the decade before 2014 as the 'lost decade'. During the session, PM stated that during UPA rule, "India was discussed for its blackout days,” while adding that the biggest scams faced by the country happened with the Congress at the helm of administration. 

"From 2004 to 2014, they lost the opportunity,” Prime Minister Modi stressed in Lok Sabha while stating that the UPA government came to be identified by “turning every opportunity into a problem.” He further pointed toward the expansion of technology and information domains and said “right at that point of time, (UPA) was entangled in 2G (scam)," PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister also stated that the UPA government was engaged in a ‘cash-for-vote' scam at the time of the India-US civil nuclear deal. “These games were played,” the Prime Minister exclaimed in the parliament while targeting UPA.
