TMC, AAP choose Kharge as PM face of the INDI alliance: Reports

In a surprising turn of events, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who previously stated the INDI Alliance would defer the Prime Ministerial candidate decision until after the Lok Sabha election, reportedly nominated Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge for the position today, December 19.

Sources indicate that Mamata Banerjee proposed Kharge's name during an ongoing Opposition bloc meeting, with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also reportedly endorsing the idea.

Later taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kharge shared what exactly conspired during the meeting. He wrote,“Today the fourth meeting of the INDI alliance was held. Leaders of 28 parties participated in this meeting and presented their views before everyone. Everyone came together and talked about strengthening the alliance and raising issues related to the interests of the people. Everyone has decided to hold 8 to 10 meetings together in the coming time, so that their message can be conveyed to the people. India will join, India will win.”
